Paintless dent removal (PDR),is for the type of dents that occur when a shopping trolley has touched a cars panel or a door has been opened onto the panel. Or, from a heavy hail stone storm. By gaining access to the reverse side of the panel I use special tools to massage the metal back to its original position. this process works because the metal has a memory and I'm just easing it back with careful controlled pushes at certain points. This process works on dents that are from a 5p coin size up to a golf ball size in diameter.

I can often tidy up larger dents depending on the location and how sharp the centre of the dent is, when a dent is very sharp the metal goes past its memory point and You get what we called metal stretch, this is when its lost its elasticity and has has made more metal than what there was before. Dents on aluminium panels can also be carried out providing they aren't to sharp as aluminium has no memory and has to be heated up and forced back to its position.

This job certainly is a fine art and takes a long time and many many gruelling hours practice to perfect this technique. Those once annoying little dents can be removed without any hassle enhancing and adding value to your vehicle without a huge bill to pay.
